Dance with the shadows, dance with the light.
Šimon’s music is strongly inspired by Slavic roots. It carries the spirit of alternative pop and ethno. He often focuses on relationships and those who do not run from pain but turn it into a source of new strength.
Šimon comes from a family with both medical and artistic backgrounds, and for several years, he was an actor, until his love for music and new friendships began to shine through, uniting people in a common rhythm. And so, Ubuntu* was born.
- He was born in Příbram and grew up in Sedlčany,
- He studied drama at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno,
- In 2020, he played Lieutenant Dolochov in the production of *War and Peace* at the ABC Theatre, directed by Michal Dočekal,
- Together with Hana Drozdová, he recorded the *Histories* podcast, consisting of plays inspired by events from Czech or world history,
- In the series *Zoo*, he portrayed one of the main characters, Adam "Haďák" Hruška,
- He is one of the frontmen of the band 440 Hc.
Šimon’s full voice brings a deep sense of calm to the listener and the strength to find their own path. Close your eyes, open your heart, and the rest will happen on its own.
*Ubuntu is a concept meaning “I am, because you are.” It is also the name of a band formed by people who are close to each other, and its name directly refers to the African concept of mutual support and connection.
The music they create is not just an artistic expression but also a tool for healing and maintaining space for those who dare to go beneath the surface of things.
Ubuntu is a continually maintained fire, where anyone can come to warm themselves.
Just as the philosophy of Ubuntu says that a person exists through others, this group works on the principles of sharing, collaboration, and deep connection between the members and the audience.
Ubuntu also means that music is not just about individual fame, but about the power to heal, inspire, and connect. Everyone contributes their unique story.
“It doesn’t matter that you don’t fit in if you know where you belong,” is the lyric of one of their songs.
Ubuntu is also a record label that, together with its investors, aims to re-cultivate the cultural and spiritual environment.
