What if one drum could change your entire world?

In 2011, Petr Havlan made his first drum, at home, by himself, intuitively, and with great enthusiasm. When the drum was finished, another question arose: What now? He felt a strong urge to learn to play it, both for himself and for others. Drumming began to fill him more and more, and his desire for rhythm grew.

In 2012, he traveled to Africa, where he spent seven weeks learning to play the djembe directly from local masters in Guinea – Famadou Konate, Mansa Cami, and Ton Ton Syll. He absorbed their rhythm, philosophy, and worldview not only by the fire in the African village of Baro but also later at home in the Czech Republic.

He continued his education, for example, with Franki B. Franka in Berlin, and collaborated with Czech percussionists on the djembe, such as Jan Vorlíček, David Oplatek, Jan Franz, and Tomáš Kerl.

Drumming became his passion, which he now passes on to others.

He teaches children in kindergartens and schools, leads workshops for adults, and drums at corporate events, celebrations, weddings, and festivals. For each group, he tailors the thematic focus so that the rhythm speaks to everyone – regardless of age or experience.

Petr loves drumming in the qualities of ancient traditions, and with every beat, he connects music with storytelling.
